Who do I chose for my "Special Day"? https://gwentaylorphotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2016/3/spring-is-in-the-air First let me introduce myself.  I am southern born and have had a passion for photography since I was about 10 years old.  I loved taking pictures of everything and everyone with my daddy's camera.  I have been photographing weddings for the past 26 plus years, which has fueled my passion even more.  Daddy always said, "Beauty is i the eye of the beholder", but honestly I have never seen an ugly Bride.  I have seen bridesmaids that have wanted to out do the bride...well that's another blog, but never an ugly bride.  From the moment they step into their wedding gown their faces lite up and and are radiant from beginning to end.

So today I want to share only one thing.

There are many vendors you will hire, the cater, the flowers, the cake, the DJ...  Most of these folks you have either seen their work or tasted their food.  Word of mouth is great in the industry.   But please don't have Uncle Joe from Sally's cousins wedding photograph the most special time in  your life.  True cameras are rather inexpensive these days and everybody has one but do they have  the artistic style you are looking for.

Recently I had a bride come into the studio to discuss her vision for her wedding with her mom    (who was paying and wanted this really expensive photographer from a bigger town do the wedding).  Mom decided that I was not pricey enough ( Her words)  so they went with more expensive photographer. Mind you I didn't say more experienced.  That was fine, but this photographer had only shot a view weddings and was really new to the wedding industry.  Three months later when the Bride got her pictures back (yes 3 months), she was in tears that the photographer had cut a lot of their heads half off and she wanted to know if I could (FIX IT).  Long story short, no I didn't have a release and he would not give her a release to fix some of the ones I could have.

So please think long and hard about your photographer.  Am I perfect....well No!.   Have I shot some pics that I just shook my head and cried over...Well Yes.   I am human...of course.   Your precious memories will last a lifetime if you have a great photographer to capture your wedding from beginning to end.
